Gateways to Opportunity approves RC as an Entitled Institution for credentials

Rockford, Ill. - Gateways to Opportunity has approved Rockford College as an Entitled Institution for two credentials. Rockford College is one of only six colleges and universities in the state of Illinois to be entitled for these Gateways to Opportunity credentials. The college has been approved as an entitled institution for Early Childhood Education Credential Level 5 and Infant Toddler Credential Level 5. Rockford College is entitled for these Credentials through 2016. Rockford College students have the opportunity to qualify for these Credentials as they take courses or complete a degree through the Early Childhood Education Program.
All Gateways to Opportunity credentials have competencies that reflect multiple professional standards. The faculty at Rockford College has aligned their courses with the Gateways to Opportunity competencies.
Gateways to Opportunity is the single statewide professional development support system designed to provide guidance, encouragement, recognition and credentialing to individuals and programs serving children, youth, and families.
