ROCKFORD, Ill. – This Saturday the Rockford College football team (0-6, 0-3 NAC) will welcome the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors (2-4, 1-2 NAC) to Sam Greeley Field for a Northern Athletics Conference matchup.  Since beginning play in 2000, the Regents are 3-8 against the Warriors and 1-4 at home against them.  Wisconsin Lutheran has won all 3 Northern Athletic Conference matchups against Rockford College by an average margin of victory of almost 19 points.  Rockford College’s last win against Wisconsin Lutheran came back on September 10th of 2005.  The Regents won that matchup by a final score of 21-14.

In order to turn the tide, Rockford College will need to execute an all around solid game plan.  Quarterback Jake Gorsuch (Rockford, Ill./Jefferson) will need to make big plays to get the Regents offense on track early in the game.  Wide Receiver Anastacio Zamba (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley) will be the receiver Gorsuch will look to.  Zamba continues to put together a solid season for the Regents.  He is in the top 5 in the NAC in both receptions and receiving yards.  However, it will be a tough task as Wisconsin Lutheran currently has the 2nd ranked pass defense in the NAC.  The rushing attack led by Isaiah Whack (Deltona Fla./Deltona) will look to get off and running against the 6th ranked rushing defense in the NAC for the Warriors.  Whack is currently the leading rusher for Rockford College and is averaging over 4 yards per carry this season.

Wisconsin Lutheran enters the game with an offense that ranks in the top 3 in all major offensive categories.  They are lead by the two-headed rushing attack of Jesse Muldrow and Donavin Tucker.  The two running backs have combined for rush for 865 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground.  This puts pressure on the Regents front 7 seven to clog up the running lanes and force the Warriors into obvious passing situations.  Long yardage situations give Rockford College an opportunity to try and force turnovers and get its offense the ball with good field position.  The Regent defense has done a good job at generating turnovers so far this season, intercepting 8 passes and recovering 8 fumbles.
