DEERFIELD, Ill. – The Rockford College volleyball team closed out its week with an exciting win at Trinity International University on Saturday.  The Regents once again fell behind early in the match dropping 2 of the first 3 sets to Trinity.  However, they regrouped and rallied back to win the fourth set and once again force a deciding 5th set.  In the final set Rockford was able to pull out the victory with 15-12 score and win the match 3 sets to 2.  Rockford has been very dominant in five-set matches so far this season.  With its 5-set victory on Saturday, the Regents are now 5-0 in matches that last the full five sets.

The Regents were again led by a very balanced attack against Trinity.  The trio of Heather Goodrich (Tinley Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew), Nicole Lawler (Pearl City, Ill./Pearl City) and Laina Scheri (Cortland, Ill./DeKalb) led the attack against Trinity.  Goodrich recorded 16 kills with only 2 attack errors on just 29 attempts for an attack percent of .483.  Lawler tied for the match high with 17 kills and added 13 digs and 3 service aces to round out her stat line.  Scheri also tied for the match high with 17 kills.  Senior Courtney Pehl (Freeport, Ill./Freeport) continued to put together an excellent season as the teams primary setter.  She filled up the box score with 48 assists, 14 digs and 4 service aces.  Pehl is currently third in the Northern Athletics Conference averaging 8.11 assists per set.  She also leads the NAC averaging 0.59 service aces per set.
