Written by Charlotte Perkins Gillman, this classic horror novel is a terrifying tale about a woman driven to the brink of insanity by the "rest cure” she is ordered to follow by her doctor to relieve her postpartum depression. Adapted to the stage and directed by Rockford College performing arts student Hannah Church, this play will bring audiences to witness the madness that reigns in the novel.
The Three Penny Theatre program provides performing arts majors with the opportunity to be in complete control of their production, whether it be as director, actor, dancer, musician or playwright. These productions, which are totally student produced, are an integral part of the training and academic mission of the department as well as an important part of our production season.
Admission is free with a donation of at least three pennies. No reservations required.
