Rockford, Ill. – Daniel Seddiqui, author of 50 Jobs in 50 States, which relates his adventures of working a different job in a different state each week, will give a free talk at Rockford College’s Maddox Theatre in the Clark Arts Center on Monday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m. Clark Arts is accessible.
Unable to find a job in his chosen field after college, Seddiqui developed a plan of working a different job in a different state each week. During this time, he worked jobs that manifested the culture and economy of the state through which he passed. This included cheesemaker, border patrol agent, meatpacker, lobsterman, surfing instructor, football coach, television weatherman, coal miner, pit-crew member at an Indiana racetrack and many others. He travels the U.S. talking to college students to help them find their passion and experience the different cultures and lifestyles of America.
Admission is free but tickets are required. To order tickets or for more information, call the Rockford College Box Office at 815-226-4100. The talk is part of the college’s Forum Series. To see the Spring 2011 series line-up, go to http://www.rockford.edu/?ForumSeries.
