Rockford, Ill. – The Final Inch, a 2008 Academy Award nominated HBO film about the final efforts to eradicate polio will be shown at Rockford College in Fisher Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 21, at 4 p.m.
The Final Inch is a powerful 38 minute documentary film about the legacy of polio in the U.S. and the public health heroes who are courageously fighting it today. The documentary tells the dramatic and intensely personal stories of vaccinators trying to reach the hundreds of millions of children hidden in slums across the world at risk for polio while showing that the last step in eradication is the hardest. After showing the film, there will be a group discussion with Rotarians from the Rockford Downtown Rotary Club.
This presentation is being hosted by the Rockford College Rotaract Club.
To order tickets or for more information, call the Rockford College Box Office, 815-226-4100.
