Broadway musical classic ‘Guys & Dolls’ to be presented by RC

Rockford, Ill. – Rockford College presents Broadway musical classic ‘Guys & Dolls.’ Performance dates are April 28–May 1, 2011. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday–Saturday and 2:00p.m.on Sunday. Student Matinee Performance will also be presented at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29 at a special discount price of $5.00 for students. Special group rates are also available. Please contact the box office for more information. All performances will take place at Clark Arts Center in Maddox Theatre.

Based on "The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown” and characters by Damon Runyon and set in Runyon’s mythical New York City —this oddball romantic comedy full of missionaries, gamblers, and dancers, is considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy soaring with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to the cast of vivid characters who have become legends of the canon. Premiering on Broadway in 1950, it ran for 1,200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical in addition to a film adaptation starring Frank Sinatra.
