SUMMARY: This GA position is responsible for practice and event coverage of athletic events. This also includes preparation for events and practices- taping, modalities, therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation, and prevention of athletic injuries. The appointment begins August 1st and continues through July 31st of the following year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: -Provide coverage in the athletic training room and athletic events Open at scheduled times as needed Assist student-athletes as needed Maintain a clean and safe environment that is OSHA and HIPPA compliant -Assist with administrative work Insurance Inventory and ordering supplies/equipment ISS data input -Daily athletic training room maintenance Cleaning Laundry Cooler maintenance -Assistance with daily practice set-ups Set-up fields and/or gym with equipment needed at each practice or game session.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Athletic Training
NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification) certified or eligible to sit for exam
CPR/First Aid certified
Admitted into the MAT or MBA program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel. The incumbent may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employees work in an athletic setting. This includes indoor and outdoor settings depending on the athletic season.
