Records Fall, Women Score at Dr. Tucker Invite

Dubuque, Iowa -The Rockford College Cross Country team hit the road on a brisk Friday night to run in the Dr. Robert Tucker Invitational at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
The women set the tone by setting a school record and all 5 women broke the Rockford College course record for the site. Erin Filak Stoffregen (Rockford, Ill./ Boylan) placed 12th overall with a school record of 24:02 and beating the Rockford College course record by over seven minutes! Genesis Cerrato (Las Vegas, Nev./ Valley) ran to a 14th overall finish with a time of 24:22 and was the 3rd overall Freshman in the field. Taylor Inghram (Las Vegas, Nev./ Arbor View) (31st -25:51), Ashley Eggert (Machesney Park, Ill./ Harlem) (52nd-27:38), and Barbara Duffy (Tampico, Ill./ Prophetstown) (56th-28:17) rounded out the Women Running Regents to establish the first women’s team score in five years.
On the men’s side, Victor Reyes (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./ Benton Harbor) set a new Rockford College course record by 50 seconds. Reyes the 3rd overall junior beat Coach Zeman’s course record and set a season’s best of 27:15. Tyler Mendenhall was the Regents second runner running 28:00 in a place of 24th and the 4th overall junior also beating Coach Zeman’s old course record. Randy Ebert (Belvidere, Ill./ Marengo) (30th-28:40), Tim Caudle (Lillington, N.C./ Overhills) (45th-30:11), Eric Woelbling (Florissant, Mo./ McCleur North) (47th-30:28), and Amour Muro (Das es Salaam, Tanzania/ Waterford) (54th-33:28) rounded out the men’s side.
The Regents will rest until October 30, when they travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to run in the Northern Athletics Conference Championships.
