Evening Out: 'Underpants,' Combine and beer

"The Underpants,” a Steve Martin comedy about a pair of bloomers presented by Artists’ Ensemble Theater. The show at Rockford College’s Cheek Theatre, 5050 E. State St., Rockford, runs through Sept. 26, with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 8 p.m. Fridays, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 and 7 p.m. Sundays. Try the The Combine ($15.99) at the Machine Shed, 7475 E. State St., Rockford. The Combine is a platter featuring three portions of the eatery’s pork offerings: a roast loin stuffed with sage dressing, a tenderloin wrapped in bacon and a "tangy” boneless loin stuffed with sausage and topped with chili powder and Cajun spices.
