Winnebago fair names royalty

PECATONICA — Crystal Nicole Thelen, 19, of Roscoe was crowned queen of the Winnebago County Fair on Tuesday night. The Illinois Wesleyan University student also was named Miss Photogenic.
She will reign over the fair until it closes Sunday, then represent it at the Illinois County Fair Queen contest in Springfield in January.
Elyse-Marie Wave, 19, of Rockford and Morning Star University was first runner-up. Danielle Tumolowicz, 17, of Rockford and Boylan Catholic High School was second runner-up.
Other semifinalists were Anna Rinaldo, 16, Rockford, Boylan; Kendra Lindsay, 20, Durand, Highland Community College; and McKenzie Wallace, 17, Rockford, Lutheran High School.
Other winners: Leann Getty, 19, Roscoe, Rock Valley College, Miss Congeniality; Blair Coffey, 18, Pecatonica, Highland, Director’s Award; Crystal Nice, 19, Rockford, Rock Valley, Miss Spirit; Justyna Grabowski, 18, Rockford, Rock Valley, interview; Elise Strominger, 19, Rockford, Rockford College, speech; Jazmine Hanners, 16, Winnebago, Winnebago High School, stage presence; and Erica Friesen, 18, Winnebago, Elmhurst College, swimsuit.
Abby Cook, 4, of Winnebago was crowned Little Miss Winnebago County Fair. Katie Johnson, 5, of Rockford was first runner-up, and Zorie Ann McNamara, 5, of Cherry Valley was second runner-up.
