ROCKFORD — For the seventh consecutive year, Rockford College has been named one of the best colleges in the Midwest by the Princeton Review, a New York-based firm that specializes in resources on colleges for prospective students.

The Princeton Review made its selections based on institutional data received from colleges across the U.S., visits to colleges over the years, and opinions of high school and independent advisers. The Review, which is not affiliated with the university, also polled students on various aspects of life at their colleges using an 80-question survey.

Rockford College is one of 19 colleges in Illinois to make the cut. Among the special distinctions Rockford College is noted for is its civic engagement, involving students in community-based nonprofit organizations and projects. As a result, the firm previously named the college a "College with a Conscience.” For the past two years, the college also has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for its campus engagement with the community.
