Rockford College announces professors’ honors

Dr. Stephen Hicks, professor of philosophy at Rockford College (rockford.edu), 5050 E. State St., received an excellence in teaching award for a full-time professor. The award for an adjunct professor went to Gary Lubbert, director of the Return to College program. John Burns, modern and classical languages professor, participated in a symposium at the UW Center for the Humanities on Spanish Nobel laureates at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jules Gleicher, professor of political science, participated in a conference on Liberty, Democracy and Property in the American States, sponsored by the Liberty Fund Inc. He also published a book, "Political Themes in the Hebrew Scriptures,” which was officially released in March. J.J. Asongu, assistant professor of economics, business and accounting, participated at the second annual International Conference on Business & Public Policy in eastern Nigeria. He presented the keynote paper and another paper. Jeff Fahrenwald, director of the MBA program and assistant professor of economics, business and accounting, received the David P. Gustafson Award from Midwest Business Administration International at its annual conference in Chicago.
