Regents' Schrader Resigns

ROCKFORD, Ill. –  Randy Schrader resigned as Rockford College head football coach on effective Friday, July 2, after four years at the helm of the Regents’ program

"Coach Schrader did an excellent job for us during his tenure at Rockford,” said Rockford College Interim Athletic Director Kristyn King. "His impact on our community went far beyond the football. He has also made a mark on our students in the classroom and in the greater Rockford community.”

Schrader completed his tenure at Rockford with a 17-23 overall record, including two Upper Midwest Athletics Conference (UMAC) Coach of the Year Awards. In addition to winning the school’s first UMAC South Division Title and coming one point from a UMAC Championship. Schrader’s players garnered 77 All-UMAC and All-Northern Athletics Conference honors and four conference MVP awards.

Former Stillman Valley High School and University of Illinois standout Patrick Babcock has been named interim head coach. Babcock will remain at the helm of the Regents’ program until a permanent replacement is hired.

Rockford will open their 2010 campaign with a visit to the University of Dubuque on Thursday, September 2. The Regents will welcome the Loras College DuHawks to Sam Greeley Field on Saturday, September 11 for their home opener.
