ROCKFORD, Ill. – On Sunday, May 2, the Rockford College baseball team will be doing its part to fight a disease that affects millions of people each year. The Regents will be raising money to help bring awareness to the fight against breast cancer when they host the Concordia University-Chicago Cougars at Road Ranger Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

Not only will fans be raising money for a great cause, they will be doing so while watching some of the best baseball in the Midwest. Since the inception of the Northern Athletics Conference in 2006, Rockford and Concordia Chicago have combined for five regular season and tournament titles. This year promises to be much of the same as both teams were chose first and second in the 2010 NAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

Proceeds from ticket sales, raffles and a silent auction will be donated to the Duck Duck Run sponsored by the Duck Derby for the Cure, and ultimately to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Information on the Duck Derby for the Cure can be found at www.duckderbyforthecure.com.
