(Rockford, Illinois) It was a meeting of the minds from around the world at Rockford College today. Amabassadors from Japan and Thailand took part in a forum on global economic recovery at Rockford College Monday. Local Congressman Don Manzullo put the event together. He hopes it will both educate the public and help boost the Stateline economy and adds, " It sends a message to Japanese investors that they recognize the strategic importance of the Rockford area. Those are the kinds of things that bring new jobs to the area."  Both ambassadors say their countries have been hit hard by the recession but there are plenty of opportunities for more economic growth with the united states.
