RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Rockford College track teams made a very impressive showing at the Concordia University Chicago Cougar Invitational on Friday. Not only did the Regents notch two individual event victories, they also established or set eight school records.
Senior Matt Lindgren (Oak Forest, Ill./ Oak Forest) continued his dominant year, notching his third and fourth wins of the outdoor seasons. Lindgren won both the 800 meters and 1500 meters, establishing the year’s best time in the NAC for 2010. In the 1500, Lindgren set a new school record of 3:59.28.
Also on the men’s side, sophomore Victor Reyes (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./ Zion Benton) established a record in the 300M Steeplechase (10:22.6) and sophomore Bobby Tassone (Sandwich, Ill./ Sandwich) established a record of 5.37 meters in the long jump.
The three juniors on the Regents women’s team were heavily involved in the record shattering. Erin Filak (Rockford, Ill./ Boylan) finished 5th in the 400 meters cutting over five seconds of the previous school record, finishing in a time of 1:03.96. Filak also set a new school record of 2:33.26 in the 800 meters. Heather Goodrich (Tinley Park, Ill./ Victor J.
