LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford College baseball team used a solid pitching performance and just enough offense to defeat the visiting North Park University Vikings 6-1 at Road Ranger Stadium on Tuesday. Both teams entered the game with similar overall and conference records and that fact was reflected in the game.

Senior pitcher Kevin Patterson (Rockford, Ill./ Lincolnway-Central) hurled a complete game gem allowing eight hits and just one earned run, while striking out eight and recording no walks. North Park’s only run came in the eighth inning as Rockford led 5-1.

Though the Regents recorded only five base hits, they certainly took advantage of every opportunity to move runners into scoring position. Rockford recorded seven stolen bases, four sacrifices, and five walks to move runners.

The Regents will next host Marian University on Thursday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m. at Road Ranger Stadium. This will be the make-up game from April 5 that was rained out.
