CHICAGO, Ill. – The Rockford College outdoor track team fought through the rain and windy conditions completing another solid performance at the University of Chicago Ted Hayden Invitational. The combination of light rain, up to 25 mile and hour wind gusts and excellent competition make for a difficult day, but the Regents runners continue to break school records.

Junior Heather Goodrich (Tinley Park, Ill./ Victor C. Andrew) set new school records in the 100 meters (14.8 seconds) and the triple jump (9.1 meters). Junior Erin Filak (Rockford, Ill./ Boylan) shaved nearly 10 seconds off Rockford’s previous school record for the 800 meters with a time of 2:36.01. Fellow junior Randy Ebert (Poplar Grove, Ill./ Belvidere) also established a new school records in the 3,000 meters (9:47.64).

Two other Regent record holders also had very good performances. Reigning 800 meter record holder Matt Lindgren (Oak Forest, Ill./ Oak Forest) finished second with a time of 1:57.1. Freshman 100 meter record holder Jerry Lewis (Bloomington, Ill./ NWC) finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 53.09.

The Regents will next run in the Northern Illinois Invitational on Saturday, April 17.
