Local higher ed consortium plans lecture series; Morrissey, Provenzano to present March 16 at RC

Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey and SupplyCore CEO Peter Provenzano, chairman of the Rock River Development Partnership, will keynote the first in a series of lectures on "Building a Better Rockford” addressing issues facing Rockford, March 16, 6:30 p.m. at Rockford College, Regents Hall.

The series is sponsored by the Higher Education Alliance for the Rock River Valley (HEARRR) comprised of Rockford College, Northern Illinois University, Rock Valley College, and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.

Theme of the March 16 session is "Setting the Context: A Candid View of Our City’s Challenges and Opportunities” and is hosted by Rockford College President Robert L. Head and NIU president John Peters. Admission is free but registration is requested online at www.HEARRR.org.

Other sessions are scheduled for April 15 at the U of I College of Medicine and May 6 back at Rockford College. Learn more about the "Building a Better Rockford” lecture series at the HEARRR Web site.
