ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford College men’s tennis team did something on Saturday, it had not done since April 21, 2008. On Saturday, the Regents won a dual meet for the first time in 16 matches.
Rockford defeated visiting Judson College 5-4 at the Boylan Tennis Center.

The win was not without drama. Rockford’s two singles win came down to dramatic tiebreakers. Junior Michael Urbelis (Rockford, Ill./ Boylan) trailed one set to none and 5-0 in the second before reeling on seven consecutive games, to force a tiebreaker set, which he rallied to win 10-6. Fellow junior Yann Biancat (Cherry Valley, Ill./ Lycee Raynouard, France) clinched the Regents’ victory with a 10-3 tiebreaker win.
Rockford will take a few weeks off before facing Northern Illinois University on Saturday, March 20 at the Clock Tower Tennis Center.
