MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Rockford College ended their 2009-10 season on Tuesday night with a 68-63 loss at MSOE in the opening round of the 2010 Northern Athletics Conference tournament. The loss dropped the Regents’ final to 14-12.

The game was exactly what one would expect from s postseason tournament game. Both teams battled for the complete 40 minutes, each hitting big shots or gaining big defensive stops when it looked as the other would grab momentum. The game featured 13 ties and 14 lead changes, none ever larger than six points. The game’s final tie at 61 came with 93 seconds to play. A lay-up by junior Robert Malone (Stephens, Ark./ Stephens) gave rockford their final lead at 63-62 with 73 seconds to play, but a made jumper and four consecutive free throws by MSOE iced the game.
Malone paced the Regents with 22 points on 8-14 shooting from the field and 6-7 from the line. Senior guard Andrew Weber (Roscoe, Ill./ Boylan) added 15 points in his final game in the Regents’ purple. Each played 39 minutes and fouled out in the game’s final seconds.
