Regents Solid at Ranger Open

PARKSIDE, Wis. – The Rockford College indoor track team continued their gowth with a solid early season performance at the University of Wisconsin Parkside Ranger Open on Friday night.  Two of the team’s newcomers continue to show early improvement, evidenced by three school records falling.  Sophomore Heather Goodrich (Tinley Park, Ill./ Victor J. Andrew) set a school record with a 4.6 meter long jump, good for fifth.  Freshman Jerry Lewis (Bloomington, Ill./ NWC) broke previous school records for both the indoor 55 meter and 200 meter dashes, with times of 6.86 and 23.3 seconds respectively. 

Other top finishes for the Regents include Victor Reyes (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./ Benton Harbor), Randy Ebert (Poplar Grove, Ill. Belvidere), and Tyler Mendenhall (Prophetstown, Ill./ Prophetstown) each finishing in the top 10 in the 1 mile run, Reyes finishing 6th in the 3,000 meter run, and Matt Lindgren (Oak Forest, Ill./ Oak Forest) finishing 3rd in the 1000 meters. 

Rockford will travel to Kenosha, Wis. on Saturday, January 30 to participate in the Carthage College Tadd Metzger Invitational.
