Dr. Head appeals to the RC community to help Haiti

To the Rockford College Community:
We are all aware of the devastation that has hit Haiti since an earthquake shook the nation last week, and again this week. Today, I am making an appeal to students, faculty and staff to consider making a donation to the American Red Cross and other bona fide relief agencies.
Rockford College has long been known for its outreach, not only in the community but around the world as well. While needs in Haiti may change in the weeks and months ahead, now is the time for all of us to demonstrate our support by donating to agencies that will help the Haitian people during this time of immeasurable distress.
In making your donation, I would recommend you do so in one of the following ways:
- Text HAITI to 90999 and a $10 donation will be made to the International Response Fund for Haiti ($10 will be added to your phone bill – this method is endorsed by the U.S. State Department).
- Call 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767).
- Send a check to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 and put "International Response Fund” in the memo line.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Haiti at this difficult time. The entire Rockford College community mourns the loss of life and supports the Haitian people in their time of need.
Thank you all for your consideration.
Robert L. Head, Ph.D.
