Students will do community service for MLK Day

Students at Rockford College will honor the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on MLK Day, January 18, by performing community service work.

The effort is part of a nationwide "Day of Service” sponsored by the Corporation for National & Community Service. Volunteers will be at the following locations: 

9:30 – 11:30 a.m.: Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State St.
Various projects
At least five volunteers

Noon – 4 p.m.: N-factor, 220 S. Madison St.
Talking with high school students about going to college
JACCE staff

3 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Goodwill Store, 4618 E. State St.
 Three volunteers
            Various tasks
