Though the season record may not have matched that of other Northern Athletics Conference foes, there certainly were bright spots throughout the 2009-10 season for the Rockford College men’s soccer team.  Freshman Matt Zawadski (Poplar Grove, Ill./ Belvidere North) and junior Bronson Garcia (Rockford, Ill./ Derby) were chosen by NAC coaches as among the conference’s best players.

Zawadski, a goalie, was named All-NAC Honorable Mention for his first collegiate season.  The freshman was second in the Northern Athletics Conference with 109 total saves and 7.79 saves per game.

Garcia, a business major, was named to the NAC All-Sportsmanship Team recorded one goal and one assist for Rockford, while starting all 15 games.

Rockford finished the season 1-14 (1-9 NAC).
