ROCKFORD (WREX) - With Sunday's cooler temperatures, it was the perfect weather to stay inside and enjoy a nice warm bowl of soup.  Rockford College hosted its 2009 Gala Soup Fest and Silent Auction.

People could come in, try the soup and chili, and vote for their favorite.  The proceeds go to the CHIP program to encourage people to get healthier.

"We're a not-for-profit, and this is an opportunity to help other people learn more about CHIP, and better eating, and better habits, and better health," said CHIP Alumni of Rockford President Walter Scott.

The CHIP program runs locally through SwedishAmerican Health System.
