ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Edgewood College volleyball team snapped their two-match losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Rockford College. The Eagles dropped the first set before bouncing back with three straight set victories to claim the match, including a 25-9 rout in the decisive fourth set.

Edgewood College (12-13, 5-3 NAC) committed just three errors in the first set, but the Regents had 13 kills to eke out a 26-24 win. The Eagles bounced back with 14 kills in the second set to even the match with a 25-22 victory.

A 25-23 win in the third, set the stage for the Eagles best performance of the night. Edgewood College hit .364 with 11 kills and just three errors to finish off Rockford College (4-17, 2-6 NAC) in four sets.

Junior libero Kim Lueck had 12 digs and reached a rare milestone, recording the 1,000th dig of her career early in the match. Lueck is just the seventh Eagle in school history to reach 1,000 digs.

Freshman Mallory Palmer was nearly unstoppable on the night, pounding out 19 kills and a .372 hitting percentage.  Palmer has had double-digit kills in 18 of 25 matches this season. Sophomore Abbi Schultz was nearly as dominant with nine kills and a hitting percentage of .368. Ellie Peckham led the team in both assists and digs with 19 and 14 respectively. The Eagles hit .224 as a team, their third-best performance of the season.

With the victory, the Eagles stayed in seventh place in the Northern Athletics Conference and moved closer to their first NAC Tournament berth since 2007. The top eight teams will qualify. Edgewood College will return home for a match against Concordia University Wisconsin next Tuesday.
