RC’s Black Student Union hosts charity concert for Rescue Mission

The Black Student Union at Rockford College holds a fall kickoff charity concert to benefit the Rockford Rescue Mission Oct. 11, 5 p.m. in the college’s Maddox Theatre. Admission to the event is a can of food which will be donated to the mission.

Among the performers are Chris Mathien, Judah the Lyrical Reverend, a local gospel choir, Chris Wyte (aka Whiteboy), a Rockford performing artist who was signed with Kanye West in 2003, and Chicago native and violinist Lee England Jr.

Rockford College President Robert L. Head will also be speaking as well as a spokesperson for the mission.
