With more than 30 education courses to choose from, teachers may want to consider a little summer school of their own this summer at Rockford College.

The classes are offered as part of the college’s master of arts in teaching (MAT) program and are packed into short durations so teachers can take more than one class this summer. Although the classes vary in start date and class times, most typically run from June 15 – June 26, Monday – Friday either full or half days. Some evening classes are offered as well.

Classes cover a variety of areas and include history, politics, and philosophy of education, reading, gifted students, technology in the classroom, educational leadership, bilingual methods, educational research, psychological foundations, and students with disabilities. Students need not be enrolled in the MAT program to take individual classes.
