ROCKFORD, IL – Rockford College recently announced that Chris Kindschi and Benjeman Shaw have been hired as the new women’s and men’s soccer coaches for the Regents.

“Nearly 200 candidates applied for these positions and we definitely believe that we have hired the two best candidates,” said Rockford College Athletic Director Kristyn King.  “Coaches Kindshi and Shaw bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our programs. We are very excited to have them lead our programs into the future and look forward to their contributions to the Rockford College community.”

Kindschi, a Beloit, WI native, becomes the women’s soccer program’s sixth head coach. Kindschi will lead the program after years at the helm of the Beloit Memorial High School women’s and men’s soccer programs.  Kindschi also spent two years as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team at Beloit College.

Shaw, the Regents’ 18th men’s soccer coach, comes to Rockford from Decatur, IL where he was head women’s soccer coach at Decatur Christian High School.  Shaw also spent three years at a full-time assistant coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN.

The Regents women’s soccer team finished the 2008 season 4-14, including garnering their first ever Northern Athletics Conference victories.  The men’s team completed their first season in three years with a record of 1-13.
