Author and essayist Steve Ettlinger presents “Twinkie Deconstructed” at Rockford College April 20, 7 p.m. in Regents Hall of the Burpee Center.
In his talk, Ettlinger presents a pop-science journey into the surprising ingredients found in dozens of common processed foods, using the Twinkie as a guide.
Author of seven books, Ettlinger has long been fascinated with everyday consumer products. He has appeared on all the major network morning shows, has been interviewed for radio and newspaper stories and his interviews and essays are syndicated and blogged widely. For those who have ever wondered what’s really in the food they’re eating, this talk will be most enlightening.
The event is free and open to the public, though a ticket is required and may be secured at the Rockford College box office in the Clark Arts Center, phone 815-226-4100. A part of the college’s Forum Series, the talk is co-sponsored by the Rockford College Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement.
