Regents Excell in Last Chance

WHITEWATER, WI - Once again the “Running Regents” traveled to a major indoor track meet where school records were broken and every Rockford athlete delivered a personal best performance.
At the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Karl Schlender - Last Chance Meet – Senior Tony Hardin (St. Peters, MO/ Howell Central) set a new indoor school record in the 5,000 Meters with a time of 16:04.35.
In the last indoor meet of Hardin’s career he came through with his best indoor effort over the 3.1-mile distance then rushed back to campus so he could catch the bus to Starksville, Mississippi for the 14th annual Alan Hutchcroft Alternative Spring Break – helping build a home as part of a collegiate Habitat for Humanity project.
Freshman Bobby Tassone (Sandwich, IL/ Sandwich) broke the existing school record in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.05 and came back in the 400 meter dash recording a personal best time of 56.1.
Juniors Matt Lindgren (Oak Forest, IL/ Oak Forest), Seth Lagerhausen (Mesa, AZ/ Dobson), and Randy Ebert (Poplar Grove, IL/ Belvidere), all ran personal bests in the mile run with times of 4:30.31, 4:38.61, and 4:52.29 respectively.
