RC faculty an active group in 2008

A report on Rockford College faculty accomplishments for 2008 shows a distinguished group of teachers, scholars, researchers, and public servants among the ranks whose work underscores a commitment to a life of learning.
There are 65 full-time faculty at Rockford College and another 143 adjuncts. During 2008, 38 faculty members engaged in scholarly research, made conference presentations or attended conferences, published papers or books, received honors or awards, or took part in other professionally-related activities. Altogether, 91 such activities were reported for the year.
- Art associate professor Philip Soosloff exhibited at the 14th Annual Sculpture, Objects, Functional Art (SOFA) International Art Expo in Chicago.
- History associate professor Catherine Forslund received a White House Historical Association Research Fellowship to study the role of presidential first lady Edith Kermit Roosevelt.
- Education associate professor Debra Dew was the project director for a $150,000 grant from the Library of Congress to teach educators how to use the library’s vast online collection of primary sources.
