2 Regents Named to All-NAC Teams

ROCKFORD, IL – This weekend, the Northern Athletics Conference announced its list of 2008 all-conference honorees. Among the top players listed were two Regents: Wendy Murphy and Jessica Schroeder.
For Murphy (Phoenix, AZ/ Mountain Pointe), a sophomore psychology major, this was her second NAC All-conference award. She received honorable mention and was named to last season’s all-freshman team. For the second consecutive year, Murphy led the Regents in shots, shots on goal, goals, and points. Murphy also ranked in the NAC top 10 in shots (60), shots per game (3.53), points per game (1.53), goals (13), goals per game (0.76), and game winning goals (4).
A freshman goalie who has yet to declare a major, Schroeder (Lake Villa, IL/ Lakes Community) received honorable mention and was named to the NAC All-Freshman Team. Schroeder led the NAC with 160 saves and was seconds in the conference with 9.41 saves per game.
Rockford finished the 2008 season 4-13 overall, but managed two conference wins, their first since joining the Northern Athletics Conference in 2006.
