DAVENPORT, IA - Another successful cross country season has come to a close - records have been broken and cross country history continues to be rewritten.

The "Running Regents" set goals at the start of the 2008 season to establish themselves as one of the top teams in the Northern Athletic Conference, to make a respectable run at the Men's Conference Championship, finish in the top 25 at the NCAA Regional Championships, and to have every runner improve throughout the season.

Every runner on the team improved from week to week, they won the 2008 Men's Conference Championship, and finished 21st in the NCAA Regional Championships - an improvement over their previous best finish of 28th place in 2006.

According to Rockford Cross Country Coach Roger Fredrickson, "Our program is really headed in the right direction. In the last race of the season our three women all ran better times today in these cold and wet conditions than they did when we ran this same course a month ago. Our men finished the year with a Conference Championship and their best ever NCAA Regional performance. The 2008 season was an exciting journey and the final races for seniors Tony Hardin and Hannah Stravers.  We're losing two great seniors - tomorrow we need to start preparing for 2009".
