ROCKFORD, IL - On Tuesday, the Rockford College women's soccer team accomplished a long standing goal, winning their first Northern Athletics Conference game in the two-year history of the conference. The Regents continued their winning ways on Thursday, with a 4-1 victory over USCAA power, the Robert Morris College (Springfield) Eagles.
Regents' captains sophomore Wendy Murphy (Phoenix, AZ/ Mountain Pointe) and senior Christina Koblosh (Yonkers, NY/ Our Lady of Victory) accounted for the Regents goals. Murphy gave the Regents the lead in the game's sixth minute with an unassisted goal. For the second consecutive game, Murphy also notched the eventual game-winner with a goal in the game's 13th minute. Koblosh got into the action 10 minutes into the second half on a goal assisted by freshman Jordan St. Clair (Rockford, IL/ Rockford Christian). WIth just under 10 minutes to play, Murphy completed the hat trick with another unassisted goal, her team-leading eighth of the season.
Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Schroeder (Lake Villa, IL/ Lakes Community) recorded five saves for the Regents (3-9).
Rockford will travel to Mequon, WI to face Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday, October 11.
