Rockford College announces theatre schedule

The Rockford College department of performing arts has announced its 2008-2009 Subscription Series. Times for all shows are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.
The line-up includes:
“Hot Mikado,” by David H. Bell, where East meets West in a hilarious 1940s-style rendition of the perennial Gilbert and Sullivan classic, Oct. 2-5, Maddox Theatre.
“Inventing Van Gough,” by Steve Dietz, the story of a contemporary painter who is hired to forge Van Gough’s final self-portrait, only to be haunted by the master himself, Nov. 20-23, Cheek Theatre.
“The Diary of Ann Frank,” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, adapted from Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl by Otto Frank, Feb. 26-March 1, Cheek Theatre.
“Sweet Smell of Success,” based on the book by John Guare, with music by Marvin Hamlisch, about a Broadway gossip columnist who controls the fates and fortunes of everyone who is anyone—from politicians to starlets, April 30-May 3, Maddox Theatre.
Subscriptions for the series are available by calling the Rockford College Box Office at 815-226-4100. Cost for the series is $30 for four tickets; students and seniors age 55 and over, $21.
