Rockford University welcomes area high school students to annual Entrepreneurship Day

Rockford, Ill., Approximately 200 students from high schools in the Stateline area will visit Rockford University to attend the 6th Annual Entrepreneurship Day, on Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University’s Burpee Center, 5050 East State Street, Rockford.

Entrepreneurship Day events will include professors from the University’s Economics, Business and Accounting Department speaking about what it takes to be an entrepreneur, as well as subjects such as Market Analysis, Marketing, Ethics, Business Planning and Strategy.

There will also be a panel of local entrepreneurs who will take questions from the students. Among those on the panel are Edward Caceres, who specializes in renewable energies and LED lighting, Excell Lewis, CEO and founder of XL Academics, and Andrea Hazzard of Hazzard Free Farm.

Students that attend the event are also given the opportunity to develop business plans and tour the Rockford University campus.
