"By Hand," a contemporary art exhibit opens Friday, Oct. 11

Rockford, Ill.- By Hand, includes the work of five contemporary artists utilizing fiber techniques and materials as a vehicle of artistic expression. Jesus Correa, Irene Perez, Anni Holm, Lindsay Oberymeyer and Rebecca Reeves blur the boundaries of art and craft while rendering or transforming everyday objects by way of stitching, knitting, mending, and altering.
The exhibit opens Friday, October 11 with a reception from 6-8 p.m., and will close November 8. The Rockford University art gallery is located in the Clark Arts Center at 5050 East State Street, Rockford. Gallery Hours are Tuesday – Friday, 3–6 p.m. and by appointment.
