Department: Economics, Business and Accounting

Reports to: Robert Evans, EBA Department Chair

Job Objective: Responsible for developing and implementing external marketing and sales strategies for the Economics, Business and Accounting Department, specifically the Leadership Development Center.


1. Develop a brand for the Leadership Development Center in cooperation with the Advancement Department of Rockford College.

2. Create and implement a marketing plan for the LDC in cooperation with the LDC managers and RC Advancement Department.

3. Make individual sales/membership calls on potential partners.

4. Assist with design and development of programs, offerings and materials for LDC and EBA.

5. Recruit for MBA and BSMS.

6. Assist in the bundling of programs for the LDC.

7. Coordinate the work of the subunits of EBA (i.e. seminars, workshops, conferences, and speakers) to maximize overlap benefits.

8. Cross market College programs, services and facilities.

9. Engage in business and civic events to ensure a Rockford College community presence.

10. Coordinate planning of external events (i.e. Career Day, Entrepreneurship Day, etc.)

Relationships and Roles:

  •   Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse population
  •   Work independently; manage time efficiently
  •   Must understand local community dynamics, along with ability to successfully interact with community members regarding issues of concern
  •   Must be cooperative, self-directed and professional

Job Specifications:

· 2-5 years of sales and marketing experience.

         o Community-based outreach and relationship building preferred

· Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field.

· Flexibility to attend evening and weekend meetings and events as needed
