Effective governance training for non-profit board members

The Northern Illinois Center for Nonprofit Excellence (NICNE) at Rockford College will be hosting Effective Governance – Non-profit board training this fall. The program begins on October 3 and continues every Wednesday at 4 p.m. until November 14 in the Rockford College, Grace Roper Lounge. The Rockford College campus is located at 5050 East State Street, Rockford.

The board training is designed for current board members, potential board members and non-profit executive staff members interested in current information for changing times and effective governance. Topics include: board roles and responsibilities which covers legal duties, fiduciary obligations, accountability, and confidentiality; board and staff relationships; effective and efficient meetings which includes various motions and officer responsibilities; ethics; fundraising responsibilities; monthly financial statements and audits; and strategic thinking and effective planning.
