Rockford College professor of Political Science Dr. Jules Gleicher has been added to the speaker list for the Constitution Day breakfast hosted by the local Winnebago County Republican Central Committee on September 22, 2012. The event, celebrating the 225th anniversary of the adoption of the document upon which our government is based, will begin at 8 a.m. and will be presented at the Stockholm Inn, 2420 Charles Street, Rockford, Illinois.
The Constitution of the United States was ratified and became effective September 17, 1787. Many communities are honoring the importance of the document by hosting events throughout the anniversary week of the event, and Winnebago County Republicans are demonstrating their support and recognition of the document and what is still stands for by hosting this event for the first time this year.
The morning will include a buffet breakfast and presentations from three regional speakers governing topics related to the United States Constitution. In addition to Dr. Gleicher, Bruno Behrends and Chad Kent will provide comments and discussion topics on the Constitution. The event is open to the public and the media.
Tickets are only $25.00 for the event. Students with a current, school issued student ID will be able to purchase tickets for $20.00. For tickets, checks made out to the WCRCC, 515 N. Court St., Rockford, IL 61103. Tickets also available at the door, but purchases before the event are recommended.
