MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Regents women's tennis team played its best match of the year on Saturday when they competed against the MSOE Raiders. Despite only coming out the meet with 1 victory, the Regents were very competitive in five other matches that could have gone either way.

Sophomore Carla Ramirez (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) got her first collegiate win in a thrilling 3-set match. After dropping the first set 3-6, Ramirez battled back to win the second set 7-6 in tiebreak to force a third and deciding set. The third set turned out to be just as competitive as Ramirez was able to earn a 10-8 victory to win the match.

The Regents had two other matches go into a third-set tiebreaker and another singles match come down to the wire on Saturday. Jessica Segalla (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) again played well out of the #1 spot but dropped her match 4-6, 3-6.

Rockford was also very competitive in two of its doubles matches having an opportunity to win both its #1 doubles match and its #3 doubles match.
