Rockford, Ill., - Rockford College Radio and the band "Between Planes” are partnering to bring the ‘In Dreams’ musical style of Roy Orbison to Rockford, Ill. at Franchesco’s Sinatra Room, located at 7128 Spring Creek Road, at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, September 5.
The event recreates the feel of the famed ‘Black and White’ Cinemax concert that Orbison performed at the Coconut Grove nightclub in 1988. "Between Planes” singer Ron Holm is noted for his heart-felt evocation of the Orbison vocal style. Musicians John Bishoff (’69), Janel Nelson, and Kendra Beth Swanson provide background vocal harmonies reminiscent of Orbison’s arrangements. The theme ‘Purple and White’ incorporates Rockford College colors.
The cover charge is $5, with proceeds benefiting Rockford College Radio. Additional information is available at www.rockfordcollegeradio.com or www.betweenplanes.com or by calling 815-979-1949.
