Student Advisory Board
The Student Advisory
Board meets twice per semester to discuss the MBA program.
The purpose of meeting is to generate ideas from students
about how to continually improve the Rockford College MBA.
This Board creates an open structure that allows communication
to flow quickly and efficiently in several directions; students
to administration, administration to students, and students
to students.
Being a SAB member
carries the responsibility of a leadership position. Our
members understand their student voice makes a difference.
This responsibility includes speaking to groups about the
RC MBA and sharing their program experience with coworkers
and friends.

Advisory
Board Policy
Background : The MBA at Rockford College has been
serving the needs of working professions in Northern Illinois and
Southern Wisconsin for over 20 years. In order to build on past
successes and build a stronger program in the future, an MBA advisory
board composed of key community executives, graduates of the program
and Rockford College graduate faculty, is necessary.
Purpose : The MBA advisory board will participate
in program reviews, evaluate curricular changes, suggest program
enhancements, and act as community liaisons for the MBA program.
Commitment of individual board members : Board
members are expected to attend a Fall and a Spring board meetings.
These meetings will last for approximately two hours. There will
be some advanced preparation required for each meeting in the form
of reading material distributed prior to the meeting. Individual
board members may also be asked to provide feedback or guidance
to new MBA initiatives between the bi-annual meetings. Names of
Advisory Board members may also appear in printed publications of
the MBA Program at Rockford College.
Terms of service : All board members are asked
to serve two-year terms, which are renewable upon mutual agreement
of the board member and the Director of the MBA program. All advisory
board members are invited to participate on the board by the Directory
of the MBA program based on recommendations from the President of
Rockford College, MBA faculty, and current MBA Advisory Board members.
Structure : The Director of the MBA program will
chair The MBA Advisory Board. At least one and not more than three
additional Rockford College faculty will also serve on the board.
The remainder of the board will consist of up to eight community
members and eight Rockford College MBA graduates. Meetings will
follow an agenda distributed to board members at least one week
before the meeting date.
