UPCOMING Performances:

B.F.A. Musical Theatre Senior Seminar presentationOpen in a New Window

Erin Farste and Kahla Conley, under the musical direction of Gloria Lynn, invite you to attend their Senior Seminar presentations; one act plays that they have each written, directed and will perform.

In partial fulfillment of the B.F.A. Musical Theatre Degree, students are required to create and perform a one person production. The purpose of this project is for the student to display the synthesis of the knowledge they have acquired from their course work in performing arts and other liberal arts classes. Students must select a specific person, topic or theme allowing them to showcase their skills, demonstrating a proficiency in all areas of the performing arts. Each student is responsible for the selection or creation of all material within his or her own performance. The presentations range from 30-45 minutes in length.

Babes in Arms
Nov. 20 - 23, 2014, Thu.-Sat. @ 7:30 pm & Sun. @ 2 pm

Maddox Theatre, Clark Arts Center

Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Lorenz Hart,
Book by George Oppenheimer,
directed by Jeff Hendry, Professor of Performing Arts and Costume Designer

The quintessential "Hey kids, let’s put on a show!” musical boasts one of the greatest scores ever written. Set in a summer stock theatre, the plot concerns a group of young apprentices and their conviction to mount the original revue they have created while dodging the underhanded attempts of the surly theatre owner to squash their attempts at every turn. Further complications are provided by the overbearing stage mother of an ex-child star and the inflated ego of a hack Southern playwright. But of course the show must go on, and so it does in a resolution of comeuppance, reconciliation and romance.

Single ticket admissions is $12 for adults, $9 for seniors age 55 and up and for students. Group rates are available. For tickets or information, please call the Box Office at 815-226-4100 or visit Rockford.edu. Dates and locations are subject to change.
