SCHOLARSHIPS There are a variety of scholarships available at Rockford University! Below are a few of the opportunities available.
Presidential ScholarshipPresidential Scholarships are awarded each fall to new first-year and new transfer students who attend full-time. All recipients must live on campus and become active participants in campus life. The Presidential Scholarships are highly competitive and are limited to 10 recipients per year. Award amounts reach up to full tuition.
Criteria are as follows:First-Year Students
- 3.65 minimum GPA
- 29 minimum ACT/SAT equivalent
Transfer Students
- 3.65 minimum GPA
- 30 completed college credits
- Must submit ACT score
Qualified students will receive an application from the Office the Admission. The Presidential Scholarship is available to Domestic students. GPA is calculated on an unweighted 4 point scale.Presidential Scholarship application materials must be received by January 31. Students must be admitted to Rockford University by January 24.Trustee ScholarshipTrustee Scholarships are awarded each fall to new first-year and new transfer students who attend full-time. All recipients must live on campus and become active participants in campus life. The Trustee Scholarships are competitive and limited to 10 recipients per year. Award amounts reach up to $20,000.
Criteria are as follows:First-Year Students
- 3.50 minimum GPA
- 27 minimum ACT/SAT equivalent
Transfer Students
- 3.50 minimum GPA
- 30 completed college credits
Qualified students will receive an application from the Office of Admission. The Trustee Scholarship is available to Domestic students. GPA is calculated on an unweighted 4 point scale.Trustee Scholarship application materials must be received by January 31. Students must be admitted to Rockford University by January 24.Dean's ScholarshipDean's Scholarships are awarded each fall and spring to new first-year and new transfer students who attend full-time. Dean's Scholarships recognize a high level of academic achievement and co-curricular activity involvement. Limited to 25 recipients per year. Award amounts reach up to $15,000.
Criteria are as follows:
First-Year Students
- 3.35 minimum GPA
- 25 minimum ACT/SAT equivalent
Transfer Students
- 3.35 minimum GPA
- 12 completed college credits
Qualified students will receive an
application from the Office of Admission. The Dean's Scholarship is
available to Domestic students. GPA is calculated on an unweighted 4
point scale.
Dean's Scholarship application materials must be received by January 31. Students must be admitted to Rockford University by January 24.
Merit ScholarshipMerit Awards are given each fall and spring to new first-year and new transfer students who attend full-time. Merit Awards recognize strong academic achievement and co-curricular activity involvement. Award amounts reach up to $10,400.
Regent AwardRegent Awards are given each fall and spring to new first-year and new transfer students who attend full-time. Regent Awards are based on academic achievement and co-curricular activity involvement. Award amounts reach up to $6,900.
The Merit Scholarship and Regent Award do not require a separate application. There is no deadline.
Clubs and OrganizationsRockford University offers over 25 clubs and organizations to fit just about any interest. Students can also start their own clubs. Movies, concerts, athletics, intramurals and more are offered year-round, along with traditional events such as Homecoming and April Weekend. The Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement provides outlets for service-oriented experiences, and students can become service fellows and earn scholarships while making a difference.
AthleticsRockford University is an NCAA Division III competitor and participates in the NAC conference.
