There are many ways to be involved on campus such as student employment, leadership workshops, Student Government Association, and joining a club or organization.Active involvement is an important part of the university experience!Student Activities is dedicated to assisting our students to have a positive experience with the multitude of campus activities at Rockford University. We have designed the following services and programs to make commuting easier and to help facilitate the connection to campus life.Commuter Student LoungeThe commuter student lounge is conveniently located on the first floor of the Blanche Walker Burpee Center. The lounge is designed to provide you with a comfortable place to study, hang out with friends, watch TV, and eat your lunch. The space is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, flat-screen TV and 2 computers. Don't be afraid to utilize this space while you are on campus!Commuter Student LockersTaking heavy books from class to class can be difficult. Lockers are available by the mail desk on the second floor of the Blanche Walker Burpee Center. If you would like a locker, contact Student Life.How to get connected as a Commuter Student
Some commuter students simply come to campus, attend class, and then depart for jobs or home. Others take the opportunity to become actively involved on campus.
- Attend the Clubs & Involvement Fair at the beginning of each semester to learn about the different student clubs and organizations. If you are interested in starting a Commuter Student Club, contact Student Activities for more information.
- Meet with Student Activities to learn about student clubs and organizations, leadership opportunities, and ways to get involved.
- Attend campus events! This is a great way to get to know the campus and meet new people.
