Davar Ardalan My Name is Iran: Modern Iran and the West Monday, March 29, 2010, 4:00 p.m., Maddox Theatre Davar Ardalan wrote a memoir, My Name is Iran, about her experiences after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and she is also senior producer of Weekend Edition on National Public Radio. Her book is a personal and political look at the battle for change in modern Iran, a country still struggling for a lawful society—and a country that Americans need desperately to understand. Ardalan’s book shares the moving stories of three generations of women in her family who all lived in both Iran and America. Vali Nasr (The Shia Revival) calls the book "a rare glimpse into the many layers of life in that nation and the aspirations and frustrations that have shaped its recent history.”
